My latest Steampunk Gauntlet is entitled Here comes the BOOM! because of the 2 integrated speakers mounted on top of the forearm. The cable comes out from the inside of the gauntlet and is long enough to travel inside my sleeve, down my shirt, and into my pocket for use in playing music from my mp3 player. This is personal theme music in style! Ok, on the bad side, the speakers kind of suck. They are not powered and so way too quite to be seriously useful for listening... but serve as a decent background music playing platform.
The gauntlet is super comfortable and designed to fit a medium / large hand. It's made of 8oz high quality leather, fitted with an antique pressure gauge, lots of aluminium, and a small sculpture on the back of the hand. It's secured to the forearm with 6 buckles for super adjustability.
It's going to be posted for sale sometime soon in my etsy shop!
The detail in this work honestly astounds me. I can understand as to why it would be featured as the daily deviation. The speakers are a brilliant idea. They may be quiet, but you're so smart in making all of this work. Each intricate detail is absolutely astounding and I can really tell that you have put a lot of work into this piece. I wish I had the money to be able to buy something like this, and I wish I had the skill to create something like this. So, overall you've done brilliantly and I absolutely love what you've done. :3
im seeing this right now for the second time on DA as you just popped up in my news feed. i really like this piece. it is bold beautiful and over the top (which is exactly what steam punk is supposed to be). the only thing i would add is maybe a battery pack of some sort, like your aether injector has, but i dont know too much about speakers to know if a battery pack is enough power for them. the only other critique i have is that i wish it wasnt 800 bucks for it, which i understand completely its worth it. i just want the piece and dont have 800 hundred dollars, so thats just me. other than those ideas i CANNOT speak badly about the piece, the only thing i wonder is if its adjustable or not for larger people such as myself, if i did ever get it (or is it one size fits all?)
It actually fits most medium to large sized hands. Smaller hands are the ones that have a difficult time. I already sold this particular gauntlet however.
The cable for the speakers is quite long so you could easily put a small amplifier on your belt.
I know $800 seems like a lot, but with a material cost of close to $400 alone... and over 40 hours of my time, I'm really not making any money at all... I do this stuff in hopes that it just pays for itself and because its fun.
goods news:
The impact of his was awesome. The clockwork, the metal work and crafts work,
The bad news:
I've seen stuff like this on DA 100's of times sadly so the originality is a little over done.
I still happen to find the impact immense. I love Steampunk so much. If this is being sold on ebay or something I want to buy it.
Since my little critque is done and I have a few short words so I'll just say this. GOOD DAY yawl!
